CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - On a day when the Mustangs honored their four seniors, the team was able to tack on a win in the late season push for the playoffs, taking down Park, 1-0.
The game remained scoreless for a majority of the first half, before senior Esther Attwood was able to take a pass and bury it in the back of the net, scoring the only goal of Saturday's contest. The Mustangs would outshoot the Pirates of Park by a 9-4 value. The Mustangs would also hold the edge in saves and corner kicks.
Manuela Gutierrez earned the clean sheet, recording a pair of saves in the contest, one in each half. The Mustang defense was stellar in the victory, holding the Pirates to just four total shots.
The Mustangs will return to the field on Wednesday in the final home matchup of the regular season, taking on Culver-Stockton.
