OLATHE, Kan. - The Mustang women's soccer team dropped a contest to MidAmerica Nazarene, as the Pioneers were able to win, 4-0.
The Pioneer defense overpowered the Mount Mercy offense, holding the Mustangs to just one shot in the game, which came in the second half. The Pioneers, however, got off 23 shots, with 13 coming in the opening 45 minutes.
Bella Leon took a pass from Alyssa Ward to open the scoring in the 18th minute as the first half would end with the Pioneers up one. In the 58th minute, Thayline Teixeira took a feed from Emily Carrasco to make it a two-goal lead, while Carrasco added a goal of her own just three minutes later. In the 65th minute, Alyssa Ward scored her fourth of the season, as Carrasco ended the game with a goal and two assists.
The Mustangs will return to the field next week against Clark in Dubuque.
