Mustangs Varsity Tournament Ends in First Round While JV Wins Warhawk Open

ADDISON, Ill. - The Mustang bowlers enjoyed a successful tournament as the JV women's team ended the Warhawk Open as tournament champions, while the varsity bowlers saw their run end in the opening round of bracket play.

The varsity Mustangs faced off against Calumet in the opening round of bracket play after a series of baker qualifiers. The Mustangs would fall in game one before taking game two, ultimately falling by three pins in game three. Calumet would go on to lose to tournament champion St. Xavier in the finals.

On the JV side, the Mustangs would enter bracket play as the top overall seed. Facing off against Davenport in the opening round, the Mustangs would cruise to a semifinals win to advance to the tournament final. The Mustangs would then take on St. Xavier in the final round, taking the first game by 29 pins and the second game by 20 pins to earn the tournament win.

Brooke Salzman highlighted the all-tournament team, recording the second highest tournament average in the tournament's history. The Mustangs will return to the lanes on December 18 at the Glenn Carlson Invitational in Las Vegas.
