Mustangs Gallop Past the Pride in Commanding Sweep

DUBUQUE, Iowa - The Mount Mercy men's volleyball team delivered a commanding sweep over the Clarke Pride, winning the match 3-0, with set scores of 25-17, 25-20, and 25-19. 

The Mustangs capitalized on a strong offense, hitting .364 in the match while limiting the Pride to a .147 hitting percentage. In the first set, the Mustangs converted 15 kills on 26 attempts, hitting a match-high .423 for a 25-17 set-one victory.

Set two followed a similar pattern. The Mustangs held the Pride to a .143 hitting percentage and nine kills while surging offensively with a .367 hitting performance and 15 kills to take the set 25-20.

The third set went to the Mustangs 25-19. The Mustangs outhit the Pride again, hitting .312 with 14 kills and limiting the Pride to nine kills and a .154 hitting percentage. 

Brian Lynch paced the Mustangs' offensive attack, tying his career high of kills with 14 and hitting .565. Kevin Fiedler contributed nine kills while hitting .160, with Douglas Fofano adding eight kills in a .263 hitting percentage. Maks Cabajewski guided the Mustang offense, dishing out 24 assists and collecting four kills while hitting .600. 

Justin Hernandez led the Pride, recording 12 kills on a .179 hitting percentage, with Anthony Ramirez trailing with five kills. Benjamin Reiser paced the Pride offense with 22 assists. 

Mount Mercy (10-2, 5-1 Heart) will look to extend their winning streak as they travel to Sioux City to face Morningside at 7:00 p.m.
