Mustangs Fall in Finals at Hoosier Classic

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The Mustang men's bowling team's run in the Hoosier Classic came to an end, falling in the championship match after finishing second of 78 teams during qualifying.

After day one, the Mustangs would hold the top spot after the original five games of qualifying, beating out Webber International by 83 pins to claim the top spot. Webber would then edge out the Mustangs in baker qualifying to take a 125 pin lead heading into bracket play.

The Mustangs would place a pair on the all-tournament team, as Keegan Alexander and Zach Andresen would take home the top two spots out of 530 bowlers who would compete. Alexander would edge out Andresen by 10 pins, finishing with a total pinfall of 1193 through five games. Alexander had three games over 245, with a tournament high of 268 in his second game. Andresen, as mentioned previously, would finish just 10 pins behind in second place, with a total pinfall of 1183, good for an average of 236.6. Andresen had four games above a 235, with a pair of games above 245.

The Mustangs will look forward to postseason play, next bowling at the USBC ITC Sectionals, slated to begin on March 7.
