Mustangs Place Ninth on Day One of Glenn Carlson Invitational

LAS VEGAS, Nev. — The Mustang men's bowling team concluded day one of the Glenn Carlson Invitational in a strong position, ending in ninth after day one. The event, sanctioned by the United States Bowling Congress and held in Las Vegas, features top collegiate teams from across the nation.

Mount Mercy sits in ninth place after the first five games with a cumulative pinfall of 5,021. The Mustangs' performance was highlighted by stellar individual efforts that helped them stay within striking distance of the top teams, including frontrunner Wichita State University (5,523 total pins).

Leading the charge for Mount Mercy was Zach Andresen, whose impressive average of 230.2 pins over five games positioned him in third place in individual standings. Blake Walsh added critical support with an average of 226, securing sixth place among individual competitors. Together, these performances bolstered the Mustangs' competitive edge and kept them in the top 10.

The tournament concludes tomorrow with the final games and bracket play determining the overall champion. Mount Mercy will aim to climb the standings and make a significant impact in the remaining rounds.
