Men's Bowling Places Three Top Bowlers in Top Six; Leads Day One of Warhawk Open

ADDISON, Ill. — The Mount Mercy men's bowling team delivered a commanding performance on the first day of the Warhawk Open, securing the top spot in team standings. The competition, held at Stardust Bowl in Addison, Illinois, features collegiate teams from across the region.

Mount Mercy posted an overall pinfall of 5,339, outpacing second-place Saint Xavier University (5,224) and third-place St. Ambrose University (5,205). The Mustangs' strong team effort was bolstered by standout individual performances from Blake Walsh and Zach Andresen, who claimed the first and second positions in individual standings with scores of 1,191 and 1,132, respectively.

Walsh, who averaged an impressive 238.2 over five games, demonstrated consistent excellence, while Andresen's high game of 267 contributed significantly to his 226.4 average. Additionally, Zachary Joiner ranked sixth with a total pinfall of 1,105, further solidifying Mount Mercy's lead.

The Warhawk Open resumes tomorrow with baker-format games, determining the final standings. Mount Mercy aims to maintain its momentum as the team seeks to clinch another title.
