
Mustangs Take Third on Day One of Season Opening Tournament
WAUWATOSA, Wisc. - The Mount Mercy men's bowling team got the season started on Saturday, narrowly finishing in third in a tightly contested battle for the top spot at the Midwest Collegiate Championships.
Zach Andreson took home fifth overall on day one, bowling a score over 200 in four of his five games to open the season, with his high being a 267 in his opening game. Andreson registered a total pin count of 1148, missing out on a top-three spot by just two pins. Blake Walsh was the second Mustang in the top-20, bowling a high of 277 in his third game of the day, good for a total pin count of 1090.
Andru Blaney came out of the gates hot, bowling scores of 258 and 246 through his first two games, while ending with a total pin count of 1035. Zachary Joiner was fourth on the team, bowling three countable scores for a total pin count of 578.
The Mustangs will continue the Midwest Collegiate Championships tomorrow.
