
Warriors end Mustangs' ITC run
LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Top-seeded Webber International knocked fifth-seeded Mount Mercy out of the Intercollegiate Team Championships on Friday, defeating the Mustangs, 4-2, at Kingpin Lanes.
Mount Mercy opened match play on Thursday with a 4-2 victory over 12th-seeded Pikeville, then dropped a second round match against fourth-seeded Wichita State, 4-1. Meanwhile, Webber International was swept by 16th-seeded Muskingum in their opener before defeating ninth-seeded Midland in round two.
The Warriors had the Mustangs down, 2-0, on Friday before Mount Mercy pushed the match to six games. Both teams entered the ITCs ranked in the top three in the final NCBCA Coaches' Team Poll released on Wednesday. Webber was second and Mount Mercy third behind top-ranked Wichita State.
