Eikenberry began his career as a staff physical therapist at Virginia Gay Hospital in Vinton and was the Vinton Shellsburg High School athletic trainer during the 2003-2004 school year. In March of 2004, he began a 19 year career at Buchanan County Health Center in Independence, Iowa as the staff physical therapist. He began as the athletic trainer at East Buchanan High School in the fall of 2004 and has been with them ever since, beginning his 21st year there. Eikenberry started at MMU in March of 2023 and also teaches in the exercise science program.
