Westendorf began her athletic training career with the University of Northern Iowa as a graduate assistant where she simultaneously obtained her master’s degree. There, Westendorf worked with the swimming and diving teams, as well as men’s and women’s golf. After obtaining her master’s degree, Westendorf continued her career at Waldorf University in Forest City. While at Waldorf, she worked with a number of teams including men's and women's soccer, men's and women's wrestling, baseball, and softball. Westendorf is in her third year at Mount Mercy, where she has served as an athletic trainer for men’s soccer, men's and women's bowling, and softball. Westendorf resides in North Liberty with her husband, Sam, son, Bryant, and their fur baby, Lehla.

What’s the best part about your job?
“Getting to meet and work with so many different athletes. It truly goes past the injury to help someone return to sport. Each day is different and exciting all in the same way.”
