Bio

Porter joined the Mount Mercy athletics department as the Sports Information Director in March of 2024.

Porter has spent the previous two years as the Associate Director of Athletic Communications at the College of Idaho. While with the Yotes, Porter assisted in nearly every aspect of athletic communications, from media relations and content creation to broadcasting and official statistics. Prior to spending time with the College of Idaho, Porter was the marketing and sports information intern at the College of Southern Idaho. From 2020-2022, he managed their livestream, was the statistician for multiple sports, and created pregame and postgame highlight videos.

Porter graduated with a bachelor's degree in Broadcasting and Digital Media from the University of Idaho in 2020. While at UI, he spent four years as the student manager for the men's basketball program and was a student multimedia journalist. He rebranded and managed the Inside the Vandals social media accounts while covering men's and women's basketball, football, soccer, and volleyball.

A native of Boise, Idaho, Porter lives in Cedar Rapids with his wife, Natalie.
