Bio

Furler has been a member of the Mount Mercy community for more than 30 years. As an undergrad, he played basketball for the Mustangs while earning a bachelor's degree in public relations in 1995. Less than a year after graduating, Furler joined the college relations office as an editorial assistant and sports information director. He moved to the athletic department as sports information director on a full-time basis in 2007, was a long-time member of College Sports Communicators (CSC, formerly CoSIDA), and was named the Midwest Collegiate Conference Sports Information Director of the Year in 2013-14. Furler was elevated to the role of assistant athletic director for communications in February 2022 and then took on the new role of assistant athletic director for events & facilities in July 2024.

Furler resides in Marion with his wife, Brandy '04, sons Landry and Lawson, daughter Leyton, and black Lab Finn.
