Bio

Lopata graduated with a degree in athletic training from the University of Northern Iowa. While at UNI, she worked with football, track and field, swimming, women's basketball, and volleyball as well as many high schools within the Cedar Valley area. Upon graduation, Lopata began her athletic training career at Cornell College in Mount Vernon, Iowa. While at Cornell, she worked with the entire athletics department with specific coverage of volleyball, soccer, women's basketball, track & field, and baseball. After raising her children, she became the athletic trainer for Center Point-Urbana High School in 2018 while being employed through Ability Physical Therapy. At Center Point-Urbana, she was the primary athletic trainer for all middle and high school athletic teams. Lopata is in her first year at Mount Mercy and will be working with men's golf, men's basketball, and women's lacrosse. Lopata resideds in Cedar Point with her husband, Rick, and children, Ally and Lucas.

What is the best part of your job?
The best part of my job is honestly the relationships and connections that are formed with the athletes and the athletics staff. Those connections make life long memories.
