Robert W. Plaster Athletic Complex
In September 2017, on 22 acres of land adjacent to the main campus, Mount Mercy opened a premier outdoor athletic complex that is one of the top venues in the NAIA, garnering national awards and hosting elite postseason competition. Turf fields highlight the complex, which also includes a multi-event throws area for track & field and automated video systems at each venue. Six locker rooms and an athletic training room are located on-site. The Busse Football Center, scheduled to be completed in summer 2026, will house a locker room, weight room, meeting space, coaches offices, and athletic training.
Busse Field was named the 2024 National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) NAIA Softball Field of the Year and has hosted five Heart of America Softball Championships (2019, 2021, 2022, 2024, 2025). Hadzic Field, home to Mustang football, soccer, track & field, and lacrosse, hosted the 2023 Heart of America Outdoor Track & Field Championships. Both venues will host their respective conference championships for the next three years (2026-28). The Mount Mercy baseball field is home to one of the top programs in the Heart of America Athletic Conference, with the Mustangs winning the league's postseason title in 2024 while advancing to the past two NAIA national tournaments (2024, 2025).
